Labour day programs and service changes

On Monday, September 2, you can expect some changes to City of Cornwall programs and services due to Labour Day.


  • Municipal offices will be closed.
  • The Benson Centre will be open.
  • The Cornwall Public Library will be closed on Monday. As of September 8, the library will be open on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.


  • The Aquatic Centre remains closed for annual maintenance (August 24 to September 15).
  • Residents looking to register for swimming lessons can do so at the Aquatic Centre’s main office from Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Please note the Centre’s main office will be closed for Labour Day.


  • Cornwall Transit offices will be closed, and there will be no bus service on Monday.
  • There will be no waste collection on Monday. Waste collection will be pushed ahead one day. For the full collection calendar, please click here.
  • The landfill will be closed.
  • Municipal Works is always accessible 24/7 by calling 613-932-5354.


  • The Civic Complex will open at noon to sell tickets for Monday’s OHL Game between the Ottawa 67’s and Kingston Frontenacs! Game time is 2 p.m. on Monday. Tickets can also be purchased online by clicking here.
  • Enjoy a Stick and Puck Skate! Sessions are scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Click here for the schedule.
  • The Giant Firetruck Sprinkler will be making its final appearance of the year at the Cornwall and District Labour Council's Picnic on Monday. Picnic is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Email for more information.
