Introducing the Funbulance: Cornwall SDG Paramedic Services’ New Community Engagement Vehicle
The Cornwall SDG Paramedic Services is excited to introduce the Funbulance, a retired ambulance transformed into a colourful, community engagement vehicle designed to spark curiosity and celebrate local paramedics.
As requests for public relations appearances have grown in recent years, the need for a dedicated outreach unit became clear. The Funbulance gives new life to a decommissioned ambulance, offering residents a fun, interactive way to learn about paramedic services at events across Cornwall and SDG.
The vehicle features a vibrant custom design by local artist Robbie Lariviere (@falldownG), blending paramedic themed imagery with familiar landmarks from around the region. The result is an eye-catching rolling mural that’s sure to turn heads wherever it goes.
"The Funbulance will be an interactive way for people throughout the community to learn more about Cornwall SDG Paramedic Services," said Brian Dufresne, Deputy Chief of Operations for Cornwall SDG Paramedic Services.
While the vehicle is no longer used for emergency response, it will play an important role at:
- Community festivals
- School presentations
- Parades and public celebrations
- Safety demonstrations
- Local outreach initiatives
Residents can expect to see the Funbulance throughout Cornwall and SDG in the months ahead, where paramedics will offer interactive learning opportunities, answer questions, and showcase the equipment and skills used in their daily work.
