Posted On Monday August 31, 2020

NOTE: The Subsidized Spay/Neuter Program is now full for 2020. Any new applicants will be added to the waitlist. Please check back in Spring 2021 for future spay/neuter clinics.

Residents can now apply to have their cat’s spay/neuter surgery subsidized.

The Subsidized Spay Neuter Program is now open. The program will assist residents in fixing their cats, and help control the cat population in Cornwall. The program will support low-income households in fixing pets over six months of age or under eight years of age.

Residents of Cornwall can apply for up to five cats to be fixed during clinics in September and October.

The process:

  1. Residents apply using the form below,
  2. Social and Housing Services staff review the application and confirm eligibility,
  3. If approved, residents’ information is supplied to the OSPCA,
  4. And finally, the OSPCA will contact the resident to book a clinic date.

Applications will continue to be accepted until all spots are filled. Residents are encouraged to apply early, as applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Application forms are available:

The Subsidized Spay Neuter Program is expected to be offered five years in a row.
