City of Cornwall Introduces New Measures to Enhance Road Safety at Key Intersections
The City of Cornwall, in an effort to calm traffic in school zones, increase public safety and create safer intersections are completing the following shortly:
- All-Way Stop control at the intersection of Surgenor St. and Joyce St. (Completed)
- All-Way Stop control at the intersection of Walton St. and St. Felix St. including Red Solar Flashers. (Completed)
- Permanent Speed Radar Boards on Water St. W. in the Lamoureux Park area. (Completed)
- All-Way Stop control at the intersection of Queen St. and Robertson Av. including Red Solar Flashers.
- All-Way Stop control at the intersection of Adolphus St. and Fifth St. E including Red Solar Flashers.
- Red Solar Flashers at the intersection of Eleventh St. and Cumberland Av.
- All-Way Stop control at the intersection of East Ridge Dr. and Glen Brook Dr./Watson Cr.
- All-Way Stop control at the intersection of Dover Rd. and Shirley Av.
- All-Way Stop control at the intersection of King St. and Walter St. — 3 Month Transition for Stop Sign on Walter St. only.
- Establishment of a Community Safety Zone on Water St. between Brookdale Av. and Sydney St.
The City of Cornwall is constantly working to evaluate and enhance our infrastructure to meet the evolving safety needs of our community. We remain dedicated to a continuous schedule of improvements, ensuring that every school zone and intersection is built with the highest safety standards in mind.
Drivers and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution as all road users adapt to the newly installed stop signs.
