Breaking: OHL Returns to Cornwall for the Seaway Shootout!
The City of Cornwall is thrilled to announce a landmark partnership with the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) to host the Seaway Shootout at the Cornwall Civic Complex this fall.
Bringing major hockey back to our community, the historic Ed Lumley Arena will serve as the backdrop for a thrilling double-header. The Brampton Steelheads will take over home ice for two regular season matchups against the Ottawa 67’s on Friday, October 16, and the Kingston Frontenacs on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
"The Seaway Shootout will see the return of regular season OHL games in Cornwall for the first time in decades," said Cornwall Mayor Justin Towndale. "Over the years, the City of Cornwall has continued to make meaningful investments and upgrades in the Civic Complex, and this event is a testament to those investments. We are excited about this partnership with the OHL and look forward to continuing this renewed relationship well into the future."
Cornwall has a storied hockey legacy as the home of the three-time Memorial Cup champion Cornwall Royals and the developer of legends like Dale Hawerchuk and Doug Gilmour. The Seaway Shootout celebrates this deep, enduring passion for hockey that still exists in our community.
