City Facilities Closed for Stay at Home Order

Posted On Thursday April 08, 2021

Starting April 8, all City facilities are closed to the public.

Residents can continue to access services by contacting staff by phone or email. If you are not sure who to contact, fill out this form. Curbside assistance will be available as needed.

There will be no change to waste collection services. This means:

  • Weekly waste collection continues normally,
  • The household hazardous waste depot will open as planned on April 14 and other select dates,
  • Cornwall Gives A Shirt will still take place April 19 to 23, and
  • The landfill, including the fREe Store, remains open for essential trips

The Cornwall Transit office will remain open, and buses will run normally. Please take Transit only for essential travel: work, groceries, medical appointments, etc.

These facilities are closed to the public:

  • City Hall
  • Municipal Works
  • Aquatic Centre, Benson Centre, Civic Complex
  • Social and Housing Services
  • Fire Stations and Paramedic Bases

Parks, paths and playgrounds will stay open. Residents should keep their distance from other park users and stay home if they aren’t feeling well.

Residents over 60 can book their COVID-19 vaccination appointment online or by calling 1-888-999-6488.
