Since 2015, the City of Cornwall has partnered with 211 - a free, multilingual helpline available 24/7 to connect people with community, social, health, and government services.

To use the service, simply dial 211 or visit www.211ontario.ca.

The City of Cornwall's partnership with 211 means that in an emergency, information will be easily available to residents.

In 2018, nearly 400 people in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry area called 211 for assistance. Callers sought information about issues like health, housing, transportation, and financial assistance.

What kinds of questions can 211 assist with?

  • Where is the nearest walk-in clinic that is open tonight?
  • Does my elderly father qualify for dental assistance?
  • I am being abused and I need a shelter. Where can I go?
  • I am looking after my husband who has dementia. I am exhausted. Where can I get relief?
  • I have an appointment in Ottawa and I am afraid to drive in the winter. Can you help me?
  • I cannot pay my Hydro bill. What can I do?
