Cornwall Tourism Launches “Cornwall Capture the Moment” Call for Photos for Highway 401 Signage
The City of Cornwall is inviting local photographers and community members to take part in Cornwall Capture the Moment, a call for tourism‑focused photographs showcasing Cornwall’s landscapes, experiences, and sense of place.
The selected image will be featured on a new Highway 401 Area Profile tourism sign, welcoming visitors and promoting Cornwall as a destination. The initiative is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to strengthen tourism visibility and highlight what makes Cornwall a place people want to visit, explore, and return to.
“This sign speaks directly to people travelling along the Highway 401 corridor and invites them to discover Cornwall,” said Shauna Baggs, Supervisor of Arts, Culture and Tourism. “We’re looking for images that make people passing through the region want to take the next exit, explore our waterfront, visit our downtown, and experience what makes Cornwall a great place to stop and stay.”
Submissions are open to individuals 18 years of age or older, and entrants may submit up to three original photographs. Images must be taken by the person submitting them and suitable for tourism marketing. While one photo will be selected for the Highway 401 signage, all submitted images will be retained by the City and may be considered for future tourism and marketing initiatives.
The final sign design will include the welcoming text “Cornwall – Welcome / Bienvenue / Shé:kon,” with layout and text placement handled by the City and its designer.
As a thank you, the photographer whose image is selected for the Highway 401 sign will receive a local gift pack celebrating Cornwall experiences, featuring passes or experiences from local attractions.
City staff will review submissions and shortlist a small number of photos, which will be presented to City Council for final selection.
Cornwall Capture the Moment is a tourism marketing initiative and not an art competition or public vote.
The submission deadline is June 12, 2026.
