Cornwall Fire Services Hosting Open House

Posted On Wednesday August 04, 2021

Cornwall Fire Services is opening its doors ahead of this fall’s probationary firefighter recruitment.

A limited number of registered participants will have the chance to tour the station, witness the physical fitness test, and ask questions of current firefighters.

The goal is to help future applicants learn more about what it takes to work for the fire service.

“We are looking to ensure that the team at Cornwall Fire Services represents all aspects of our community, and the people who make up that community,” said Deputy Chief Matthew Stephenson. “As an equal opportunity employer, we encourage everyone to join us and consider a career in firefighting.”

Click here to register for the open house on Saturday, August 21. Registration is mandatory and spots are limited: your registration will be confirmed by email.

Here's what you can expect during the day:

  • Only registered participants will be permitted entry.
  • Self-screening for COVID-19 is mandatory.
  • Participants will be expected to wear their mask throughout the day.
  • Sessions will last two hours and include a station tour, physical fitness test demonstration, and an opportunity to try an element of the fitness test.
  • Lunch is provided - this is optional, but encouraged, as it's your chance to “Grill the Chief!”
  • Applications will not be accepted on August 21. Please watch our website to apply when recruitment opens.
