Cornwall Transit Railway Crossing Policy
As of February 3rd, 2014, Cornwall Transit buses will be stopping at railway crossings while in service throughout the community.
The new policy stems from a review of protocols following the September 2013 bus-train crash in Ottawa that claimed six lives.
This is an additional measure to ensure the safety of Cornwall Transit passengers and employees and the community at large.
White and red decals will be placed on the back of Cornwall Transit buses to warn other road users that the bus stops at railway crossings.
