Ontario Works

The City as the Consolidated Municipal Service Manager delivers programs throughout the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and the City of Cornwall.  The programs are designed to help residents in transition to provide support to gain and maintain employment.

The primary program is:

  • Ontario Works (Employment Assistance Program and Income Maintenance)

The secondary programs are:

  • LEAP (Learning Earning And Parenting)
  • Homelessness Funding and Emergency Energy Fund
  • Domiciliary Hostel

The menu of programs provide for employment support whether there is an emergency or an ongoing need.

The main office is in Cornwall, with two satellite offices in Alexandria and Chesterville. 
 
 There are two ways of applying for Social Assistance either on-line or by calling.
