Youth Painting & Drawing Lessons

New Dates To Be Announced

Returning this Spring the Department of Planning, Parks & Recreation, in partnership with local Fine Artist Sandra Taylor, will be offering Children's Painting and Drawing Classes at the Benson Centre. Children will start with learning to draw simple forms like houses, animals and people, while the second half of the program will introduce participants to the colour wheel and allow them to create with paint. Instructor Sandra Taylor

Sandra is a Graduate with Distinction from St. Lawrence College's Fine Arts Program and recipient of the Academic Council Award for highest proficiency of her graduating class.  Sandra has also studied oil painting under the mentoring of her long time friend and well known American Artist Elaine Bigelow. Sandra has also studio independently with American Watercolor Society artists Don Andrews and Alex Powers

Sandra has been teaching painting and sculpting for over 17years both privately and with the YMCA in the Toronto area, for St. Lawrence College Continuing Education program, Iohahi:io Adult Education Center on the Mohawk territory and for 6 years in her studio which is now in Cornwall, Ontario.
Sandra's works have been shown in Toronto, Ottawa, and both North and South Carolina. Sandra also teaches workshops on the Business of being an Artist and in advanced techniques of working with Acrylic Paint.
