Swimming Programs

We offer various levels of swimming programs at the Kinsmen Pool in our new Aquatic Centre as well as our five outdoor facilities.

Our main objective is to promote safe and enjoyable aquatics.  

Please review the information below for more details on the various programs offered at the Aquatic Centre.



Fall & Winter 1 Swimming Lesson Registration will commence on Monday August 27, 2018. Winter 2 & Spring Registration dates to be determined.

Programs Offered:

  • Red Cross Swim Preschool - Starfish, Duck, Sea Turtle, Sea Otter, Salamander,    Sunfish, Crocodile and Whale
  • Red Cross Swim Kids 1-10
  • Swim Patrol - Rookie, Ranger, Star
  • Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross
  • Adult/Teen Lessons
  • Aqua Fitness – shallow, shallow low impact, deep, circuit

Red Cross Swim Preschool

Red Cross Swim Preschool is a learn-to-swim program for children ages four months to six years of age.  The first three levels, ages 4 to 36 months are parented and focus on water orientation and water safety. The last five levels for ages 3 to 6, build swimming skills and teach age-specific water safety.

Red Cross Swim Kids

Red Cross Swim Kids is a fun, learn-to-swim program for children ages 5 and older.  This 10-level program helps swimmers develop the five main swimming strokes, which supports learning how to be safe in, on, and around the water. The program also increases fitness and endurance through enjoyable activities.

Advanced Levels
Advanced levels are courses to train students in life saving techniques as well as to develop their swimming skill and ability.


This program is offered to adults and adolescents who want to develop their swimming skills and to build a strong confidence in the water.

AquaFit gives a full body workout in the water. This program is designed to develop coordination, balance, strength and toning. Shallow, shallow low impact, deep and circuit classes available.

Birthday Parties and Private Rentals
We have time slots available for private pool rentals (corporate parties, family reunions, fundraisers, etc.) and we offer packages for Birthday Parties.

Cornwall Sea Lions Swim Club
The Sea Lions Swim Club offers professional coaching in a team atmosphere that coaches basic competitive strokes for the beginning swimmer and offers provincial and national competition for the advanced swimmer.
