Pool Rules and Swimming Guidelines

The Department of Planning, Parks and Recreation is committed to children's safety. Please support the following Safety Policy:

Children under the age of 7 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who is at least 16 years of age and is responsible for their direct supervision, within arms reach and must remain in the shallow end. There is a maximum of 2 children for each parent/guardian.

Children between the ages of 7 and 10 years, who cannot pass the facility swim test must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who is at least 16 years of age and is responsible for their direct supervision, within arms reach and must remain in the shallow end. There is a maximum of 2 children for each parent/guardian. Children who pass the facility swim test may swim unaccompanied.

Lifeguards may ask for a demonstration of swimming ability if they feel there is a question of the child's safety. If children, between the ages of 7 and 10, can swim across the shallow end of the pool and back without stopping, then they will be permitted to swim unaccompanied and in the deep end of the pool.

Please note that participants must measure 48 inches in height to use the water slide.

The maximum number of bathers permitted during Leisure/Family Swims is 285.

Pool Fouling
Everyone is affected when the pool is fouled. Babies, tots and those without bowel control MUST wear snug fitting pool pants -  no disposable diapers. All participants should avoid eating or drinking too much prior to swimming and those 'under the weather' should stay home.
