Sixth annual Frontline FYI taking place May 24th

May 14, 2012

Frontline FYI is a local information exchange fair that will showcase a variety of non-profit agencies and programs offered to all residents while also providing resources to support and strengthen frontline workers in several sectors.  Also showcased is the FYI’s “Health Zone” which focuses on the importance of personal health and self-care practices.  This year the “Health Zone” will be featuring healthy eating and cooking demonstrations with The Health Nut, massages from Cornwall Healing Arts, yoga with Spirit Tree Yoga and much more!

The 6th Annual Frontline FYI event will be held Thursday May 24th from 1:30pm-7:30pm at St. Lawrence Secondary School.  Everyone is welcome to attend this free event and is encouraged to come by to do some networking, sample some food, get a massage, and see what our local community can offer you!

There will be entertainment and food provided by the students from St. Lawrence Secondary School, as well as a chance to win some great prizes donated from local businesses such as The Grind Cafe, The Health Nut, Cornwall Square and many more!

The Frontline FYI committee is excited to announce a new partnership for the 2012 event with the Upper Canada District School Board in addition to the unveiling of the new Frontline FYI logo.

“This partnership really compliments the core meaning of our event… a coming-together of our community.  The value and importance of information sharing is proven to be a much needed resource whether it is for personal or work related matters, and fortunately the Frontline FYI is a great way to highlight how our community has many great services and programs to offer,” says Michelle Gratton, executive director of the Social Development Council of Cornwall & area.

The event has also initiated a partnership with the Cornwall and Area Welcome to Kindergarten – FACES; a collaborative project lead by The Learning Partnership and funded by the Trillium Foundation with representation from local school boards and community agencies.

Interested participants can contact the Social Development Council of Cornwall & area at 613-930-2011 for more information or to register and reserve a table. Attendees can also get their hands on an eco-friendly reusable bag emblazoned with the new logo at the event.
