Free activities being offered in celebration of National Child Day

A variety of free activities will be offered throughout the community on Wednesday, November 20th in celebration of National Child Day.

The 19th annual event features a long list of activities to keep children busy throughout the day and evening. To help residents take part in the fun, Cornwall Transit will be offering free bus rides to all children and all adults accompanied by a child.

The venues for National Child Day activities include:

Ontario Early Years Centre (550 Ninth Street East)
9 am to 11:30 am
Various activities and face painting
Age group - 0 to 6 years

Cornwall Public Library (45 Second Street East)
8 am to 8:30 pm
Special Draw
Age group - 0 to 18 years

Cornwall Armoury (505 Fourth Street East)
4 pm to 7 pm
Jumping Castle, Mini Trains, Kids Corner, Face painting/manicures
Age group - 3 to 10 years for Jumping Castle, 0 to 3 years for Kids Corner, 0 to 18 years for Mini Trains and Face Painting

Benson Centre (800 Seventh Street West)
4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Public Skating (Pad 1)
Age group - 2 to 18 years

Olympia Bowl (71 Ninth Street West)
4 pm to 6 pm
Age gropu - 2 to 18 years

Port Theatre (132 Montreal Road)
6 pm
Age group - 0 to 18 years

Aquatic Centre (100 Water Street East)
7 pm to 8:30 pm
Age group - 0 to 18 years
* Please note there is a maximum capacity of 205 people and residents will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis

In addition to the activities outlined above, a number of restaurants will be offering special deals during the day. Participating restaurants include A&W, Dairy Queen, Domino's, Harvey's and Pizza Hut.
