Lift-Off

Some of Canada's biggest musical acts are set to take the stage at this year's Kinsmen Cornwall Lift-Off Festival. The festival runs from July 12 through 15.

There is no bigger artist in Canada than platinum selling artist and icon Burton Cummings. The legendary singer of The Guess Who and successful solo artist will be delving into his incredible catalogue of songs that include American Woman, Hand Me Down World, Laughing, These Eyes, Stand Tall, My Own Way to Rock and many more.

Also playing Lift-Off is the newly reunited band Big Wreck who are touring in support of their brand-new hit album “Albatross”. A popular band through the late-1990s that split in 2002, Big Wreck is back in a big way with vocalist Ian Thornley and guitarist Brian Doherty leading the way.

Marianas Trench will also be taking the stage in Lamoureux Park. With singles like Celebrity Status, Good To You, Cross My Heart, All to Myself and their latest Fallout receiving huge airtime, the Vancouver-based pop-rockers have been growing a fan base across the country.

Juno award winner Sloan will be making their first appearance in Cornwall. Throughout their 20-year tenure Sloan has released over 12 albums and no less than thirty singles. The band has been nominated for 10 Junos, most recently in 2012 for their recent album Doublecross.

Solo artist Suzie McNeil will be taking the stage featuring songs from her 4th studio album “Dear Love”. McNeil continues to build a solid music career after being the last woman standing on Rockstar: INXS.

Rounding out the headline acts will be Juno nominated The New Cities, who are heating up the charts with their new single ”Heatwave”.
