Cornwall is profiled in the first of two feature articles in the Ontario Construction Report.

The first 8-page feature is titled "Booming building activity in Cornwall revitalizes economy and identity" and covers major development projects happening locally. Some of the projects profiled in the February report include the Cornwall Community Hospital ($120 million redevelopment), the Seaway International Bridge ($79 million new construction), the Benson Centre ($33.5 million new construction) and the St. Lawrence College ($14 million redevelopment).

“This report will help raise the profile of the major development projects that are completed or underway in Cornwall,” said Bob Peters, Senior Development Officer.  “The Ontario Construction Report is read by many of the province’s developers, architects and engineers. The feature also shines the light on several local companies that are working on these major projects.”

Due to the scope and variety of development activity in Cornwall, the publishers decided to expand the article and spread it out over two issues. The second feature will be published in March.

"We were impressed with the number of exciting projects in Cornwall - and what this extensive development activity means for the future of the City.  We think our readers will find the stories compelling," said Tim Lawlor, Coordinating Publisher - Ontario Construction Report.

The February report is supported by advertising from a number of local contractors and service companies, including; Perras DiStefano Construction, Laurier Electric, Olsonfab Metal Fabrication, Ladouceur Mechanical Contractors, Elco Electric, St. Lawrence Testing, HPI Cornwall and Lafarge Ready Mix and Aggregates.

The March report will profile the Benson Centre, R.J. Bourgon and Associates and the Cornwall Community Hospital project.

The Ontario Construction Report is published monthly by the Construction News Group. The newspaper serves the Ontario construction market and is distributed to thousands of businesses, including contractors, architects, building owners, government officials and developers throughout the Province. The online edition of the report is read by almost 75,000 people.

Copies of the February edition of the Ontario Construction Report are available at Cornwall Economic Development, Suite 104, 100 Water Street East (Civic Complex). The report can also be viewed online at www.ontarioconstructionreport.com
