Advanced foot care practitioners invited to submit letter of intent to Glen Stor Dun Lodge

Glen Stor Dun Lodge believes in offering choices to our residents by allowing them options to select their service provider. 

Hence, Glen Stor Dun Lodge is changing our current practice in the provision of advanced foot care.  We invite all qualified Advanced Foot Care practitioner to submit a letter of intent if you would like to practice at the Glen Stor Dun Lodge.

Selected Providers will have their names, qualifications and contact information added to our roster of Advanced Foot Care Practitioners.  The list will be made available to the residents or their family members who will then access the service according to their preference.

In order to be considered for the provision of Advanced Foot Care, the following criteria must be met:

  • Must provide proof of liability insurance
  • Must provide proof of the completion of a college level Foot Care Nurse Certificate Program.   Certified Foot Care Nurse (CFCN®) certification is not required but is a definite asset
  • Must provide proof of a current non-restricted Registration/License from their governing body in good standing

Care Delivery Expectations

The Service Provider will be required to:

  1. Assess foot skin integrity (e.g., fissures, ulcers, corns, calluses, dermatitis), physical/musculoskeletal function of the foot (e.g., range of motion, deformities, strength), sensation (e.g., monofilament testing, vibration), toenails and cuticles
  2. Complete a risk assessment for ulceration on assessment
  3. Provide nail care and make recommendations for any clinical findings
  4. Identify the need for appropriate referrals (i.e. podiatry, occupational therapy)
  5. Follow infection control guidelines/standards
  6. Provide a fee schedule
  7. Document treatment provided and noted clinical observations in our charting system
