Family Expo

Calling all families with young children - the fifth annual Family Expo is set to take place on October 19th and 20th at the Cornwall Civic Complex.

A wide variety of products, services and resources will be available for families during the two-day event, and roughly 30 exhibitors will be on hand to offer parents choices in toys, clothes, supplies, child care services, RESPs and more. The expo runs from 10 am until 6 pm on Friday, October 19th and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 20th.

"There is something for every member of the family," said Cathy Ashby, Ontario Early Years Centre Manager. "This free event offers a balance of family services, shopping opportunities and entertainment for the whole family."

This year, The MasoniCh.I.P Ontario will be present on Saturday October 20th from 11 am to 3 pm offering the most comprehensive digital fingerprinting child identification system available.

Also, Vogel Joy will perform on Saturday, October 20th at 10:30 am, 12 pm and 1:30 pm. Vogel Joy is a family who captivates young audiences and encourages participation at their fun filled high energy children’s concerts. Meanwhile, Frisotine, a French children’s entertainer, will perform on Friday afternoon at 3:30 pm.

Other activities include face painting, a Mega Block Play Centre and family entertainment throughout the Expo.

Once again this year, Sears will sponsor the fashion show on Saturday, October 20th. Hip Kids Consignment Sales and a Marketplace will be available for early holiday shopping.

The Family Expo has quickly grown to become a can't-miss event for local families.

"This is our fifth year providing this event. It started as the 'Baby Show' and grew into the Family Expo," said Laurie Legue, Program Supervisor with the Ontario Early Years Centre. "I’m really excited about this year’s event. The masoniCh.I.P is back and we have a great line up of activities."

The event is presented by the Ontario Early Years Centre of SD&G, the Centre de santé communautaire de l’Estrie and Hip Kids.
