Gordon Lightfoot performing at Aultsville Theatre on November 21st

Gordon Lightfoot

The legendary Gordon Lightfoot will be gracing the stage at Cornwall's 680-seat non-profit Aultsville Theatre on a Fall 2014 tour that includes stops at Ottawa's National Arts Centre, Montreal's Place des Arts and 4 nights at Toronto's historic Massey Hall.

Aultsville Theatre General Manager Janet Martel can hardly hide her enthusiasm.

“I’m a huge fan of Mr. Lightfoot’s music and I was incredibly excited when we received word that he wanted to bring his tour here to our community theatre," she said. "I believe this show will be a real feather in our cap and will showcase the fantastic technical upgrades we’ve been making.”

The concert will be held on Friday, November 21st at 8 pm. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, January 30th at 19 am through the Cornwall Civic Complex box office (613-938-9400) or online via www.admission.com (search 'Aultsville'). Ticket prices start at $49.50 (plus service charges and taxes). VIP Fan Xperience packages including a pre-show reception AND a chance to meet Gordon Lightfoot are available in most cities, including Cornwall.

“We’ll be offering a special presale opportunity to people who’ve signed up via our website to receive our e-newsletter,” said Aultsville Theatre Communications Coordinator Graham Greer. “Access to an icon like Gordon Lightfoot is a great way to reward our supporters.”

In the music world, Gordon Lightfoot may very well be the idol of icons. When listening to a Lightfoot recording, Bob Dylan "doesn't want the song to end" and can't think of any of his songs he doesn't like. Daniel Lanois loves everything about him. Jimmy Buffet admits he always tries to write songs like him. But rather than bask in the adulation he so clearly inspires, the musical legend continues to work harder than ever.

Currently marking five decades of touring and counting, Gordon Lightfoot will once again invite fans to be a part of his legacy when he embarks on his 2014 Canadian Tour.

Mr. Lightfoot has won 15 Juno Awards and been nominated for 5 Grammy Awards. He was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1986 and the Canadian Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2001. In May 2003 was made a Companion of the Order of Canada and is also a member of the Order of Ontario. In 2004, he was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame and in 2012, the U.S. Songwriters Hall of Fame.
