Richelieu Day Care Centre celebrates National Child Day

National Child Day at Richelieu Day Care Centre

The sounds of drums filled the air at Richelieu Day Care Centre on Tuesday, November 20th as staff and families from the centre welcomed a special guest in honour of National Child Day.

Musician Jody Marsolais of The Rythym Room dropped by the centre for an interactive, hands-on performance with the children. During this unique visit, the children got to experience various instruments from around the world and participate in song and dance.

It was just one of a series of activities that took place at the centre to help mark National Child Day.

The children also helped to prepare snacks on the go that were served to all parents and caregivers during drop-off hours.

In addition, with the help of staff at the centre, each child received their own felt story, The Mitten, which they were able to take home and share with their family.

Located at 305 York Street, the Richelieu Day Care Centre is licensed to accommodate 10 toddlers (walking infants to age 2.5 years) and 32 preschool children ages 2.5 to 6 years old.

It has been providing high quality child care services in the community for over 30 years since it opened its doors in 1979.

The centre is bright and spacious, with three separate playrooms for the toddlers, junior preschoolers and senior preschoolers. Each room is divided into separate play areas with a diverse array of age-appropriate toys, equipment and educational materials. The centre has two playgrounds, one for each age group (toddler & preschool).
