The City of Cornwall is conducting a strategic planning exercise to guide the City's decisions for the community in the years ahead.

As part of the exercise, the City is asking residents and business owners to provide input on what they would like the City to be.

Residents can provide their feedback in person at a Community Engagement Session on Wednesday, May 29th, from 3 pm to 7 pm, in Salon B of the Cornwall Civic Complex. It will be a roundtable session, and scribes will be on hand at each table to collect input from community members on what should be included in the City’s new Strategic Plan.

Residents can also provide input through a short online survey.

“We are embarking on an important strategic planning exercise, and input from the public is a key part of this exercise,” said Norm Levac, Chief Administrative Officer. “I would encourage residents to attend the session or fill out the online survey and share their concerns and priorities for the City.”

The completed surveys, along with the data collected at the Community Engagement Session, will be compiled and submitted to the City of Cornwall to be used in its strategic planning exercise.

In addition to the public input component, the strategic planning exercise will also consist of an internal survey of City employees and two strategic planning sessions with City Council on Saturday, June 1st and Thursday, June 6th. A final report is expected to be completed by Friday, June 14th and presented to Council at its regular meeting of Monday, June 24th.

The strategic planning exercise is being lead by the St. Lawrence College Corporate Learning and Performance Improvement office, which delivers professional development and consulting services to a wide range of private and public sector clients.
