Enjoy some family time with a variety of fun activities this Christmas holiday season!

There’s no shortage of things to do this holiday season in the City of Cornwall. Here’s your guide to what’s on tap.

Public skates
Skating is a favourite Canadian pastime and the City of Cornwall offers a variety of public skate sessions for all ages at the Benson Centre!

In addition to regular public skates on Sundays (12:45 pm to 2:15 pm) and Wednesday and Friday evenings (6 pm to 7 pm), there are also senior skates on Monday and Friday mornings and Parent and Tot skates on Wednesday mornings.

Free Tim Hortons public skates
Tim Hortons is offering a series of free public skates this holiday season at the Benson Centre (Pad 1). Enjoy a free skate on the following dates:

Wednesday, December 27 (2:30 pm - 4 pm)
Thursday, December 28 (1 pm - 2:30 pm)
Friday, December 29 (1 pm - 2:30 pm)
Wednesday, January 3 (1 pm - 2:30 pm)
Thursday, January 4 (1 pm - 2:30 pm)
Friday, January 5 (1 pm - 2:30 pm)

Public swims
Take a break from winter and take the plunge at the Aquatic Centre! There are a variety of leisure, family, preschool, and adult/senior swims taking place over the Christmas holidays.

Outdoor rinks
A winter tradition in Cornwall, outdoor rinks will once again be back in neighbourhood parks across the City! Crews and volunteers are busy preparing them for another season of action and depending on the weather, they could be ready for use in the near future.

Big Ben Ski and Snowboard Centre
Another season is set to begin at Big Ben on Saturday, December 23rd. The ski and snowboard hill (across from the Benson Centre) will be open throughout the holiday break from 10 am to 4 pm (with the exception of Christmas and New Year’s Day).

A full-day user ticket is $9 or there is an afternoon fee of $7.50. From 2 pm to 4 pm the cost is $5.75. Registration for ski and snowboard school lessons is also underway! For more info and to access the registration form, please click here.

Horse-drawn wagon rides
Free horse-drawn wagon rides are back in Lamoureux Park! Enjoy a beautiful ride under the lights in the park. The rides are being offered on Saturday, December 23rd and New Year’s Day from 3 pm - 7 pm with the wagon departing from the splash pad area.

Experience some old-fashioned winter thrills with tobogganing! The tobogganing hill is back in Lamoureux Park just south of the splashpad and children’s play structure. Open to all, bring your own toboggan and slide away!

New Year’s Day celebration in Lamoureux Park
Lamoureux Park will be the place to be on New Year’s Day with free horse-drawn wagon rides, tobogganing and other fun activities! The Mocktails concession at the splash pad will also be open from 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm selling coffee, hot chocolate and tasty Mocktail pastries!

Hockey games
Cheer on the home team this holiday season at the Cornwall Civic Complex! The Cornwall Nationals host Danville on Friday, December 22nd and Port Huron on Saturday, December 23rd while the Cornwall Colts take on Rockland on Thursday, January 4th. All games start at 7:30 pm and the Civic Complex box office will be open two hours prior to game time.
