Residents invited to attend annual Remembrance Day ceremony

Residents are welcome to attend the annual Remembrance Day ceremony on Saturday, November 11th at the Cornwall Cenotaph on Second Street West.

The march will start at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 (at the corner of Second and Cumberland Streets) at approximately 10:45 am and continue along Veterans’ Walk to the Cenotaph, where the Remembrance Day ceremony will begin at 11 am.

To ensure the safety of all participants, the Cornwall Community Police Service may close some streets around the Cenotaph prior to the ceremony. The streets will be reopened at the conclusion of the ceremony.

The Legion will be open after the Remembrance Day ceremony and members of the public are welcome to attend.

Free Transit for Veterans
The City would like to remind residents that Cornwall Transit provides free rides to Veterans throughout the year. For more information on this program, please click here.

Office closures and service changes
Please note that City Administration offices will be closed on Monday, November 13th for Remembrance Day and will reopen on Tuesday, November 14th.

The Benson Centre, Civic Complex and Aquatic Centre will be open for regular programming on Monday, November 13th, and Cornwall Transit buses will be running.

There will be no changes to the garbage and recycling schedule. The City Landfill site will be open on Monday, November 13th for regular hours - 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
