Recreologist (Temporary Part-Time Pending Annual Review)

 

The Corporation of the City of Cornwall is currently recruiting for a Temporary Part-Time Recreologist (pending annual review) for the Glen-Stor-Dun Lodge Outreach Services Department. 

 

The Recreologist is expected to demonstrate an understanding and respect of the aged; excellent interpersonal communication skills; effective interview and assessment techniques; ability to work as a team with other Departments; self-motivated /staff-directed and enthusiastic; and display a positive attitude.

                                                                       

The successful candidate must be a graduate of University level Therapeutic Recreation Program with experience in geriatric setting or graduate of University level Sociology Program with concentration in gerontology or Graduate of a Community College in the Recreation Leadership Program with supplementary training in geriatrics or minimum 3 years experience in geriatric setting; demonstrate knowledge and use of computer software. Completion of Dementia Studies (3 components), French language skills, training or direct experience in Palliative Care, basic bookkeeping skills and a current valid driver's license will be considered as assets.
