Public Information Coordinator

The City of Cornwall is a progressive community of 47,000 situated on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Eastern Ontario.  Cornwall boasts a modern economy led by forward thinkers and offers an extensive array of urban amenities making it an excellent place to build a career and raise a family.  

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Public Information Coordinator will assist in delivering information on City programs and services to the residents of Cornwall. Responsibilities will include managing the City website, organizing corporate advertising, and supporting other City departments in their communication efforts.

Our ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Communications, Journalism or Public Relations, and a minimum of 2 years of recent related work experience. Our candidate will have excellent written, computer, and presentation skills, including expertise in wordprocessing, desktop publishing, graphic design, the creation of effective promotional materials (advertisements, newsletters, brochures), management of web and social media content and knowledge of basic web design. This position is designated bilingual; the ability to communicate in both English and French is essential. Municipal experience will be considered an asset.

The Corporation of the City of Cornwall offers a competitive salary starting at $53,441 per year and a comprehensive benefits package.
