Manager - Human Resources

The City of Cornwall requires a Manager - Human Resources to be responsible for the strategic leadership, development and day-to-day administration of a Corporate Human Resources Department.  The Manager - Human Resources will manage client services to all departments, labour and employee relations, recruitment, compensation and benefits, training and health & safety programs.  The Manager - Human Resources will lead the delivery of Human Resources' support and advice, develop and implement HR programs and policies that align with City Council's priorities & strategic direction and collaborate with the Corporate leadership team.

Applicants will possess the following qualifications: Post-Secondary Education, preferably with a University degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or a related discipline; formal managerial training; a minimum of 7 years recent related experience in senior management including contract negotiations, budget preparation &  administration, and supervision of staff; demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and public relations skills and  a track record of building effective teams and earning the trust and confidence of staff, unions, senior management and elected officials. Your approach will be consultative, flexible and solution-oriented.  Municipal experience, bilingualism and the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation will be considered as assets.
