School Crossing Guards

The City of Cornwall is a progressive community of 47,000 situated on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Eastern Ontario.  Cornwall boasts a modern economy led by forward thinkers and offers an extensive array of urban amenities making it an excellent place to build a career and raise a family.  

The Corporation of the City of Cornwall is seeking Part-Time/Casual School Crossing Guards for the current school year. Crossing Guards are responsible for preserving the safety of school children on their way to and from school.

Applicants must possess a high school diploma; able to communicate effectively with children; physically capable of standing for extended periods of time; able to walk with the children; have the agility to react to a potential hazard; demonstrate adequate vision and hearing levels; able to work outdoors during all seasons; able to arrive at point of duty for specified duty time; and have access to transportation as you could be placed at different areas within the City of Cornwall.

Those who are selected for the Part Time/Casual School Crossing Guard position will be placed on an eligibility list that will reset for the new school year.

The City of Cornwall offers an hourly rate of $12.00 per hour.
