Background

Glen Stor Dun Lodge has long been recognized as one of the leaders in dementia care. It is partly due to the functional design of our dementia care units. Most importantly, it is the result of dedicated staff and the support from our volunteers.

Special Care Volunteers' Role

• Provide companionship and reassurance
• Provide security during off unit activities and outings
• Give assistance and encouragement in program participation
• Be a friend

Volunteer Commitment

• to take part in training sessions
• to offer assistance to programs or visitation to assigned Residents minimum one hour per week
