Services

The City of Cornwall Fire Department performs a number of services, all of which are designed to maximize the safety and quality of life for the residents of our community.

The most obvious service traditionally associated with fire departments is the suppression of fires. While the Cornwall Fire Department has the trained personnel, equipment and experience to fulfill this mandate, we also provide the following services that truly make Cornwall a safer place to live, work and visit:

• a) fire prevention and education programs;
• b) hazardous material response;
• c) water and ice water rescue;
• d) technical rescue (high angle & confined space)
• e) response to medical calls;
• f) auto extrication;
• g) child seat inspection; and
• h) training services.

The City is protected by a force of 56 firefighters. Two fire stations are located within the city.
