Municipal Grants Program

The application period for the 2018 Budget is now closed. Thank you for your interest.

Each year, as part of the annual budget process, Council will determine the amount of funding to be provided for all municipal grants in aid including:  Community Project grants, Corporate grants, In-Kind Contribution grants, and Community Events grants.

Community Project Grants  One-time assistance either as seed funding for the start-up of an organization/project, or funds for a short-term undertaking with a start-up and completion date  or loan  guarantees to assist an organization in acquiring the financial assistance from financial  institutions, needed to support the construction of the project or support for a specific project.
Corporate Grants Operating funding to assist with the general operating expenses of the group, including administrative costs and program-related expenses.

In-Kind Contribution
Grants  

Provision of municipal property/facilities, materials or resources to an applicant,  and does not include the provision of cash funds to, or on behalf of, the applicant.
Community Event Grants A recurring event or a onetime or first time event that is of cultural, social or recreational significance to the community and which may have the participation of more than one organization and is open to all members of the public.


All grant applications must be submitted prior to September 29th, 2017 for the 2018 Budget to ensure they are incorporated in the annual budget process for consideration.  Please click on the links below for further information regarding the Municipal Grants Program.

Ontario Trillium Foundation
An agency of the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Trillium Foundation strives to build healthy and vibrant communities by strengthening the capacity of the voluntary sector, through investments in community-based initiatives. Grant application deadlines are March 1, July 1 and November 1.

Eastern Ontario Development Program
The Eastern Ontario Development Program is a government initiative to support economic development in southeastern Ontario. The program has three streams - Business Development, Community Innovation and Collaborative Projects. Any municipality, not for profit corporation, first nation or business based within Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry including the City of Cornwall is eligible to apply for funding from any of these streams. The maximum contribution to any specific project is capped at $100,000 per year.
