Council Meetings

Cornwall City Council meets in the Council Chambers on the Second Floor of City Hall, 360 Pitt Street, at 7:00 p.m. every second and fourth Monday of the month, with the exception of March, July, August and December when meetings are held on the second Monday on the month only. Should one of the pre-scheduled meetings fall on a Statutory Holiday, the meeting is then held on the Tuesday following the Holiday Monday.

 Attending Council Meetings

If you are attending a Council meeting either because of your involvement in a particular item on the agenda or because of your general interest in local government in Cornwall, you will find details in this area helpful in understanding the procedure.

 Closed Meeting Investigations

Effective January 1, 2008, the Corporation of the City of Cornwall has been ensuring that requests for investigations, submitted under Section 239 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended (the Act), are dealt with in a fair, open and expeditious manner.

This new policy applies to all appointed Boards and Committees of the Municipality, with the exception of the Police Services Board and the Public Library Board.
