Office of the C.A.O.

The CAO can best be described as the City Manager, and is the highest ranked staff position in the Corporation. The office of the CAO is responsible for the overall management of the City of Cornwall's operations, programs, services and assets.

Paul W. Fitzpatrick has been appointed to the position of Chief Administrative Officer effective January 16, 2006.

Each department of the City has a Manager, whether it be Public Works, Planning, or Economic Development; and these (11) managers all report to the CAO. His principal role is to work closely with his management group to plan and review all activities, issues and programs that impact on municipal operations and the public good. Once accomplished, the CAO ensures that all appropriate matters are brought to City Council for review and approval.
