BicyclesThe Share the Road Cycling Coalition (Share the Road) has announced the latest Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) awards for Ontario and the City of Cornwall has made the list.
The following communities were awarded new Bicycle Friendly status, all at the Bronze level: The City of Cornwall, City of Cambridge, Town of Collingwood, City of Temiskaming Shores and Town of Whitby. The City of Cornwall would like to advise motorists that the temporary traffic lights at Cumberland and Water Streets will be turned off and covered on Wednesday, February 1st and the intersection will return to its original state.
These temporary lights were installed by the Federal Bridge Corporation's contractor to address additional traffic on Cumberland Street during the construction of Brookdale Avenue.

Pothole machineThe City of Cornwall recently acquired a state-of-the-art pothole maintenance machine to deal with small and medium sized potholes more efficiently.
“We did our research, we even talked to municipal works in Ottawa and found this to be the most effective method of dealing with potholes,” said Tommy Sauve, Safety, Training and Operations Supervisor for the City of Cornwall.
